Re: The rise and fall of email

an email + intranet strategy works well. part of what is done through email can easily be moved to the intranet..management of documents..sending attachments back and forth is just a big no no. mailing everyone announcements can easily be moved to the company intranet homepage or the group page as the case may be. discussions which involve multiple people can be moved to forums, which also capture the knowledge so gained for later refrence (rather than be locked away in email). this and many other things. but email cannot ever be dispensed away with altogather. theyre "push" communication, as opposed to "pull" communication as intranets are (the onus is on the users to go to the information).
